As I read this book soon after the previous one, I couldn’t help but compare both the books. Here we have academic rivals and a really good plot.

There’s Alice, one of the best students in the school, who discovers that her parents no longer can afford to send her to the expensive school. For her that meant that she could never go to any Ivy league colleges or have a great profession after college. It was the end of everything for her. And then surprisingly she discovers that she goes invisible for a while every few days. Then she cracks her plan. Along with her rival, Henry Li, she devises an app where the students could ask for things to be done. Like following someone’s father to find out if he is cheating or not. With every job that she does being invisible, she charges money and wishes to be able to earn enough for her tuition fees.

Naturally, things go astray once dangerous requests start piling up. It was very predictable and yet I loved the story. The writing was beautiful. I like how the author added bits of her Chinese culture and actually made Alice likable. All in all, it was a pleasant read.
