I remember how coincidentally I finished reading this book on 12th of June, the day when Anne was born. I really enjoyed reading this book. Once again, it felt pretty personal to me. I have enjoyed maintaining a diary since the last seven years. As I read the initial pages of the book, I could relate to the teenage worries and troubles. I used to write the exact things too. Then as I progressed on to the diary, it slowly grew darker. There was no worry about how Anne’s hair looked. Instead, it was replaced by the fear of getting discovered from the hiding place.
It was amazing how Anne managed to find love, laughter and hope among all the darkness surrounding her. I have only now come to realize just how difficult that is.
